I’ve loved animals as far back as I can remember. Growing up, my best friend was a Bichon Frise named Charlie; (named after the main character in my favorite movie at the time, “All Dogs Go to Heaven).” I also had a menagerie of other pets in my parents' small New York City apartment; three parakeets, a guinea pig, a turtle, several goldfish, a cat, and two dogs.
Currently, I’m the owner of a smart and handsome mutt Fred, who also has suffered from some pretty intense separation anxiety. It was through researching methods on how to treat canine anxiety that I discovered Who’s Walking Who and their apprentice program.
Through my apprenticeship, I learned to use positive reinforcement training methods to help Fred work through his anxious behavior, and how to help canine clients through various daunting tasks like how to walk on a loose leash to how to jump through a hula hoop. I’m looking forward to continuing to help Who’s Walking Who clients and their humans forge healthy relationships.
